Yoga and meditation
Ayurveda evolved around 600 BC in India. This new system of medicine stressed on the prevention of body ailments in addition to curing them. Followed by the Dravidians and Aryans alike, Ayurveda has been practised ever since. Today, its a unique, indispensable branch of medicine - a complete naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of your body's humours - vata, pitta and kapha - to achieve the right balance.

Ayurveda believes in the treatment of not just the affected part, but the individual as a whole. Making it the natural way to refresh you, eliminate all toxic imbalances from the body and thus regain resistance and good health. Kerala's equable climate, natural abundance of forests (with a wealth of herbs and medicinal plants), and the cool monsoon season (June to July and October to November) are best suited for Ayurveda's curative and restorative packages.

In fact, today, Kerala is the only State in India which practises this system of medicine with absolute dedication. According to Ayurveda every living and non living being in this universe is a combination of five basic eternal elements, called 'Pancha Maha Bhoothas'. Human Body is also constituted by these five eternal elements in various compositions. Hence it can be conceived that every cell of body is possessed with all the properties of life. The only difference of Human Body from the external World is the expression of 'CHAITANYA or consciousness or life spark or spirit or soul. These eternal elements manifest in the Human Body as three basic principles or subtle energies or humours (Thridosha in Sanskrit) The word Dosha literally means that which maintains and controls the body. They are Vatha, Pitha and Kapha. The Pancha Maha Bhoothas and the Thridoshas are not prevalent to the naked eye. But they should be conceived on comprehensive terms in which all physical structures and psychological functions of the body are included.

Monsoon, the ideal time for rejuvenation

Traditional texts reveal that the monsoon is the best season for rejuvenation programmes. The atmosphere remains dust-free and cool, opening the pores of the body to the maximum, making it most receptive to herbal oils and therapy. Kerala is also home to families that have been using and practicing Ayurveda for more than ten generations: The Ayurveda treatments have been recognized to cure people and so that people are just flowing to Kerala. Fortreating the patients, ayurveda treatment center uses a large variety of natural herbs and their oils to give them access to a healthy life. Today people from very part of the world come here and revitalize themselves in the exiting Ayurveda. In Ayurveda there are different types of treatment at different season or it changes year to year. The Monsoon season August-September) is ideal for almost all treatments because the body will be brighter to the medicines.
